Dysentery and diarrhea are two of the major health problems facing children in Project Bududa's clinic’s catchment area. In addition to treating the multitude of cases that show up every day, FIMRC would like to begin the fight back by constructing sources of clean water and thus using preventative healthcare to stem the tide of these ailments. By using local materials and locally appropriate methods, along with continuing outreach trips to the areas around each water well, FIMRC will ensure that there is enough community buy-in to the idea of clean water that the wells will be self-maintained in the future instead of collapsing when the funding is finished.
