The ability to provide oxygen to patients in Uganda as a whole is a rare occurrence. Particularly important is the provision of oxygen to newborns. Oxygen is so rare in Bududa District that none of the 28 medical facilities can provide it. The major challenge in providing this service is the two-day 330-mile round-trip journey to refill oxygen tanks. With your help we can procure an oxygen concentrator allowing FIMRC to provide an unlimited amount of oxygen to mothers, fathers, and children without a multi-day trip to the capital Kampala to refill oxygen tanks.

This donation is given, with love, in honor of Chris Keasler who left us much too early due to complications from bile duct cancer. He was a caring and generous person who would always help others to include strangers. He would love to know that he has helped improve the lives of children and mothers in Uganda. Chris is the brother of Benjamin Dierksmeier, the Project Bududa Field Operations Manager.
