Almost 50% of all children under the age of 5 are malnourished in this area. In order to help decrease the amount of malnutrition, FIMRC provides monthly home-visits to all malnourished children which offers monthly weight checks and education on proper nutrition. The children also receive multivitamins and nutritional supplements as indicated by the pediatrician.

In order to truly monitor the nutritional status of these children, FIMRC started an initiative to provide parasite medications every 3-6 months for each child in the program. Stool testing is also provided to ensure that these children do not have parasites that could be hindering their nutrition. The funds raised will be used to provide this crucial parasite medication as well as stool testing as indicated for the 20 children in the program.
