Project Cavite works alongside barangay health workers to implement Phil PEN, a WHO program adapted by the Department of Health. To assess community members' risk of a major cardiovascular event in the next 10 years, house-to-house surveys are conducted in the six barangays we have partnered with. To develop projects to mitigate community members' risk, the data collected must first be encoded and analyzed. Project Cavite, in collaboration with the University of the Philippines, developed a spreadsheet to serve that purpose. A laptop would allow FIMRC staff and volunteers to assist in the encoding process. The laptop would also allow us to help manage the data collected by the University of the Philippines.
