Thanks to a generous donation, FIMRC Project Limon received a microscope in 2013 that allows for the opportunity to open a fundamental Laboratory as part of FIMRC Project Limon’s Clinic. Unfortunately, within the rural area that FIMRC serves, there is limited access for laboratory exams with the closest option being a private clinic in Limon charging for each exam taken or at the government Health Center free of cost but 45 minutes away in the city of Tola. With this project, FIMRC would be able to supply a once a week laboratory with the partnership of the Ministry of Health providing a laboratory technician free of cost to perform the lab exams for the surrounding community thus enhancing the medical services provided in the area, diagnosing more accurately, and thus reducing the amount of repeat Pediatric visits.

FIMRC is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing modern medical care to disadvantaged families worldwide. Learn more at www.fimrc.org.
