“Vacaciones útiles”, or different summer activities focused on skill and knowledge building for elementary and secondary school students, are very popular in urban areas of Peru. However, these activities are not accessible for students residing in rural areas. This project would allow us to bring a week of health-focused “vacaciones útiles” to the primary and secondary students at one of the more isolated rural schools with which we work.

The camp will be three hours a day and will be open to all primary and secondary school students in the community. A different health topic will be addressed each day through interactive activities, crafts, physical activities, and more! The goal of this project is to provide meaningful health-focused activities for our partner youth to engage in during their summer break and to reinforce concepts learned during the school year.

The funds will be used for daily transport to one of our rural partner communities, daily healthy snacks, camp materials, and additional staff support.
