FIMRC La Merced carries out regular health campaigns, generally at weekly fairs, where people from more rural communities attend to sell and / or buy goods, and at events such as community celebrations where larger numbers can be reached. The main objective of our campaigns is to do tests on blood pressure and blood glucose level and provide appropriate advice to those that attend, the over-all aim is to reduce the levels of hypertension and diabetes. We also measure weight and height to give people a BMI reading and advice based on the results. To successfully carry out our activities it is necessary to have accurate equipment; this equipment includes a digital scale (measuring kilograms and grams) and a mobile measuring stick (with visible millimeters). This one-time investment is something that you can help us with! You can help us to prevent and to provide early diagnosis for two common non-communicable diseases - diabetes and hypertension, both of which have increased due to the lack of easily accessible and easy to understand information. With records of accurate results, we can analyze and monitor blood pressure and glucose levels within our communities. Your donations will be used to purchase a mobile height measuring stick ($400), a digital scale ($150), carp ($200) and a large size tensiometer ($200).
