Often times, patients must receive diagnostic testing that cannot be performed in the clinic at Project Alajuelita. When patients repeatedly seek care for the same symptoms, lab tests help determine their best course of treatment, but patients often cannot afford to pay privately for the service. Project Alajuelita staff have the goal of being able to refer 50 patients for lab tests at an estimated cost of $50 per patient.
