Diabetes is a major problem that is highly prevalent all across Indian communities. Kodaikanal’s population is equally high in diabetes, partly due to low sedentary lifestyle and poor eating habits. The majority of the population is totally dependent on the tourism industry and belongs to lower income groups. Due to the lack of awareness, not many are diagnosed and still lead unhealthy lifestyles. This project will help us begin screening the community for diabetes during our community surveys, and create a plan to help patients.
