Our largest partnership at Project Kodaikanal is with four crèches that act as daycare systems for children ages 2-5. In addition to medical check-ups we provide on a weekly basis, FIMRC also provides nutritional support. Many of the children who attend the crèches suffer from malnourishment, and they already receive D3 vitamins and multivitamins to help with weight gain. Additionally, FIMRC works to provide the crèche teachers with recommended meals, and helps to pay for the ingredients needed to ensure the children receive high-caloric meals while at the crèche. There are three meals provided each day, and we often see increased weight gain for children who attend the crèches regularly. Proper nutrition as a child is extremely important and has a large impact on the overall health of a child, including the rate of illness. FIMRC attempts to work on a holistic level to provide crèche children the best chance at living happy, healthy lives!
