With high levels of infidelity within the local communities and high levels of sex tourism within the beach communities surrounding project Limon, rates of STD’s are very high and rates of HIV/AIDS are growing exponentially throughout Nicaragua. In order to bring more awareness to safe sex practices, Project Limon has given numerous sexual education classes with adolescents in community groups, the local high-schools, and through existing programs. As part of the sexual education classes, we hope to have a constant supply of condoms and continue to promote use of condoms to help prevent growing rates of STD’s and HIV/AIDS. Funds or supplies raised for this project will go directly to provide condoms free of charge and keep a constant supply here at the FIMRC clinic.
