FIMRC started Chimney installation in four communities where it works and had installed more than 30 stoves. Currently, we install chimneys both at the crèche child houses and non – crèche houses. The goal is to cover all the houses that do not have chimneys and suffer from indoor smoke pollution. Since most of the houses are one single room with kitchen space at one corner and use firewood for cooking, all the smoke from the firewood is deposited in the house and inhaled by the people living in the house which eventually leads to respiratory and other health problems.
